Notes CoderDojo is a movement of FREE programming clubs for kids, ages 8-17.At CoderDojo, young people can learn how to code, program websites, apps, games and more!

Our goal is to encourage computing skills from a young age, as well as motivate kids to experiment and play with programming environments, so they can become confident and independent learners!
What to bring:

  • A laptop. Borrow one from someone if needs be.
  • An interest in computers and how to program them!
  • A parent/guardian! (Very important). If you are 13 or under, your parent must stay during the session.

We welcome new coders all the time! However, due to space limitations, you must get a ticket for each session (see Booking section below).

Prerequisites: No prior programming experience is required. However, keyboarding skills (or a helpful parent) is necessary for some programming environments!

What to expect: Each session will be dependent on the lead mentor. Sometimes focus will be on beginning or introductory projects, other times, there will be more advanced topics covered. Details for each session will be included in the Eventbrite ticketing information.

Join Silicon Valley CoderDojo Google Group to receive info about all upcoming events, and come to the one that suits you best!

Mentor participation: Mentors donate their time, free of charge, so that we may provide this opportunity to kids! Mentors who attend the CoderDojo support project goals, answer questions, share their knowledge, and help with problem-solving.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor, either to lead or assist at sessions, please join, Silicon Valley CoderDojo Mentors

Parent participation: Parents are a fun part of the dojo. Some like to co-program/learn with their kids, others help their kids with set-up and/or typing, or become technical mentors!

Parents are responsible for supervising their own kids needs and equipment, so the Mentors can focus on project goals.

Your kids will really enjoy showing you what they’ve created!

SiliconValley CoderDojo would like to acknowledge and thank Microsoft Corporation for hosting our sessions at their awesome facility in Mountain View, California!!
